Cecy’s book is called “Sealed With A Curse: A Weird Girls Novel.” It’s the first in a three-book series, and it’s got a mix of werewolves, vampires, and the twisted humor you love. It will be released in January on Penguin’s Signet Eclipse imprint, and she is going to be LIVE ON THIS BLOG in December talking about it. Yes, I’ve scored the interview of the century so EAT YOUR HEART OUT, BARBARA WALTERS!
(Does anyone know if Barbara Walters is still alive? I don’t keep up with that stuff. I also tend to confuse Barbara Walters with Barbara Streisand, so let’s move on. Uh, we’re talking about Cecy and her books.)
Cecy Robson will be here in December deftly navigating a minefield of hard-hitting questions about her story arc and her subplots and all that other crap no one cares about – and then we’ll talk about the important stuff like who will play the parts of her characters in the epic movie.
Of course, you might be wondering why you should be interested in a writer you’ve never heard of, so let’s take a stroll down memory lane. I know a guy who went to see Mudhoney back in 1990 or so at a little club in New York. I said, “How were they?” and he said, “Pretty good, but the opening band was a lot better. Those guys are gonna be huge – another band from Seattle called Nirvana.”
Do you see where I’m going with this? Now what if I told you that Cecy lives in Seattle?
Well, Cecy DOES live in Seattle! She did not know Kurt Cobain, although I was tempted to drum up some publicity with a phony story about a torrid love affair she had with him right before he died. But my ethics as a journalist took over, even though I’m not a journalist and will probably make up a few things later on – why not? Most journalists make up plenty.
You have six months to get ready for this event, so plan accordingly. Block out time on your December calendar to come here every day and check for the interview. Then figure on reading it three or four times per day. And of course, buy the books.
Cecy Robson’s web site is right here: cecyrobson.com.
You can preorder her books on Amazon.com right here.
Stay tuned for more info.

I’m a weird girl who likes vampires and I’m also somewhat cursed. Did this woman write this book just for me?
I think you’d like it.
I wrote for anyone who has ever felt like the odd person out to prove weird can be strong, brave, and beautiful.
It is written that “The weird shall inherit the earth,” or something like that. Of course I’m not sure why they want it.
I heard that, too. If my Catholic upbringing has served me well, I believe it was the 11th Commandment that sadly didn’t make the final cut.
Looking forward to chatting it up with the one and only Happy Joe.
Well, you are the only one who is looking forward to talking to me. But I’m also looking forward to it. I also just drank some wine, so I’m looking forward to everything.
Funny how wine has that affect on people. It’s like . . . magic!
Cecy, were you named after the Ray Bradbury character from “The April Witch”?
No, Guido. I’ve actually never even heard of THE APRIL WITCH . . . and neither had my parents. I was named after my aunt Cecilia whose nickname is Cecy.
